Terms of Use

Effective from June 15, 2026

These Terms of Use (the "Terms") govern the use of the Meerno mobile application and the pages of the meerno.spacewebsite (collectively, the "Services") and allocate the rights, obligations and liability between the Provider and Users.

By using the Services, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

1. General provisions

1.1. The Services let you learn foreign vocabulary: create dictionaries, add words, run different training types (cards, pronunciation, quiz, spelling, listening), use machine translation and AI-based word enrichment.

1.2. The Services support learning multiple foreign languages. The list of available languages is shown in the app and may change.

1.3. Administration and technical support of the Services are provided by the Meerno team. Contact for all inquiries: support@meerno.space. The publisher of the Application is identified on the Services' App Store page.

1.4. The Provider may change the scope and availability of the Services' features.

2. Definitions

You (User)— an individual who has reached the age of full legal capacity under the law of their country of citizenship; or the legal representative of a minor acting on the minor's behalf.

Provider — an independent developer and owner of the Services, responsible for their operation and technical maintenance.

Services — the Meerno app and the meerno.space website.

Premium subscription — an auto-renewable paid plan that unlocks extended features and limits.

3. Registration and account

3.1. Some features are available without registration (guest mode) with reduced limits.

3.2. To sync data across devices and lift most restrictions, you need to create an account or sign in with Apple.

3.3. You agree to provide accurate information and keep it up to date.

3.4. You are fully responsible for safeguarding your password and for all actions taken under your account. You must notify us immediately if you become aware of any unauthorized access.

4. Premium subscription and payment

4.1. A baseline set of features is provided free of charge with usage and frequency limits (anti-abuse and cost-based caps).

4.2. A Premium subscription lifts the restrictions and unlocks extended features. Current plans and prices are shown in the app and may differ by region.

4.3. Auto-renewing subscription terms (required by Apple for apps with auto-renewable subscriptions):

  • payment will be charged to your Apple ID account upon confirmation of purchase;
  • the subscription automatically renews for the same period unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period;
  • the renewal charge happens within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the then-current price;
  • you can manage the subscription and turn off auto-renewal in your Apple ID settings: Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions;
  • the duration and price of the current period are shown at the moment of purchase and in your Apple ID settings;
  • a free trial (if offered) automatically converts to a paid subscription unless cancelled before it ends;
  • any unused portion of a free trial, if offered, is forfeited when purchasing a subscription before the trial ends, where applicable;
  • you can restore a previously purchased subscription on another device through the "Restore Purchases" button in the app.

4.4. Refunds for subscriptions are handled by Apple. To request a refund, contact Apple via reportaproblem.apple.com.

4.5. The Provider may change the subscription price prospectively. You will be notified by Apple in accordance with App Store rules; if you do not confirm the new price, the subscription will not renew.

5. User content

5.1. You may create dictionaries, add words, descriptions, images and audio. This content remains yours.

5.2. By creating content, you grant the Provider a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, copy and process it solely for the purpose of operating the Services (sync, backup, display to you and to people you share with).

5.3. You warrant that you have all necessary rights to the content you upload (including images and audio) and that it does not violate any law or third-party rights.

5.4. You may not upload content that: violates the law; promotes hatred; is sexual in nature and exploits minors; contains malicious code; or contains personal data of third parties without their consent.

6. Base (preloaded) dictionaries

6.1. The Services provide access to a catalog of preloaded base dictionaries. Access may be free or included in a Premium subscription.

6.2. Your progress on base dictionaries is saved in your account. The content of base dictionaries belongs to the Provider and may not be copied or used outside of the Services.

7. Rights and obligations

7.1. The Provider may:

  1. amend these Terms and the scope of the Services' features;
  2. suspend or terminate the Services or parts of them for maintenance, updates or other reasons;
  3. delete accounts with an unverified email after prolonged inactivity;
  4. restrict access to the Services if abuse, automated use or breach of these Terms is detected.

7.2. The User shall:

  1. not use the Services for unlawful purposes;
  2. not reverse-engineer, decompile or otherwise circumvent the technical protection measures of the Services;
  3. not take actions that may impair the normal operation of the Services (DoS, scraping, exploitation of vulnerabilities);
  4. not share account access with third parties.

8. Intellectual property

8.1. The design, graphics, source code, UI texts, base dictionaries, the Meerno trademark and other content of the Services belong to the Provider or are used under the corresponding rights.

8.2. Use of the Services' content beyond personal non-commercial use within the app, without the Provider's written consent, is prohibited.

9. Personal data protection

Processing of personal data is governed by the Privacy Policy, which forms an integral part of these Terms.

10. Limitation of liability

10.1. The Services are provided "as is" and "as available". The Provider does not warrant uninterrupted operation of the Services or their fitness for your particular expectations.

10.2. The Provider is not responsible for the quality of machine translation generated by third-party services, or for the correctness of content generated by AI services.

10.3. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Provider is not liable for indirect damages, lost profits or loss of data.

10.4. The Provider is not responsible for the actions of third parties or for the content of third-party resources linked from the Services.

11. Apple Standard EULA

Unless expressly provided otherwise in these Terms, the distribution of the App via the App Store is also governed by Apple's standard end-user license agreement: Apple Standard EULA. In case of conflict, these Terms prevail, except for provisions required to be included by Apple's rules.

12. Termination

12.1. You may stop using the Services at any time and delete your account through the app settings or by emailing support@meerno.space.

12.2. An active subscription is not automatically cancelled when you delete your account — cancel it separately in your Apple ID settings.

13. Governing law and dispute resolution

13.1. The law applicable to these Terms is the law of the jurisdiction in which the Provider actually carries out its activities. Mandatory consumer-protection provisions of the country of your habitual residence apply to the extent they grant you broader rights.

13.2. The parties will use reasonable efforts to resolve disputes through negotiation. If a dispute is not resolved through negotiation within 30 days after a written notice, it shall be submitted to the competent court at the Provider's location.

14. Changes to the Terms

14.1. The Provider may update the Terms. The current version is published at meerno.space/en/terms. Material changes will be announced in the app and/or by email.

14.2. Continued use of the Services after a new version takes effect constitutes your acceptance of it.

15. Miscellaneous

15.1. If any provision of the Terms is held invalid, the remaining provisions remain in force.

15.2. The Terms are drafted in Russian and English. In case of discrepancies, the Russian version prevails.
